Help! I need a great, no-nonsense halloween costume!?

I'm a 30 something female looking for a costume - more clever than y - but certainly not frumpy and no crazy mask or make up on my face. Can you help? I have red hair and was thinking pippi longstocking or the babe from scooby doo, but wanted better ideas. thanks much!!
