Brake caliper sliding pins?

Replacing the caliper on 93 geo prizm, the caliper mounting bracket has 2 sliding pins that you grease up. At the end of the dust boot theres a washer-like plug and the old one is stuck. New sliding bolts came with them already connected to the dust boot. Any way to get the old ones out?
