My vet told me my 10 week old GSD has or could have bad hips? how can she tell so early, could she be right?

I will be having a hip score done when she is 12 months old. My vet also said she has a hyenia and best not to breed from her? I'm really upset, can they be right so early on? Has anyone else been told this and proven the vets wrong! She also advised that she be spayed.
