Tithing Question?

I am a Christian. My husband is a Christian. He just started a new job last week. His first paycheck is in and I told him it is time to start tithing. He told me he doesn’t make a lot of money and I stopped him there and reminded him that when you tithe GOD will prosper. I was raised knowing that you are supposed to tithe. It was automatic. I know for a fact that when you tithe GOD supplies. I can look at my mom and step father and see that. How can I convince my husband that it will do us good in the long run. I don’t care what he says I am going to plant this money. I just need some advice to give a man that is low on cash and faith. Thank you.
